Shifted Sands
Is "okay" even on the map we trace? A normal we once knew, a vanished space. Ignorance, a shield, in simpler times we thrived, Now truth's harsh light reveals, where once we connived.

Love's ember glows, a constant in my heart, An unwavering flame, that sets us worlds apart. The spark's transformed, a love that's redefined, The past a melody, forever left behind.
My "person" you remain, though threads may fray, Alone I'd cope, but presence lights the way. An understanding rare, a bond that cuts so deep, Yet friendship's path, a thorny one to keep.
This tangled web of love, a question yet to ask, Can we rebuild, from love's smoldering task? A future unknown, a bridge we both must mend, Friendship's fragile bloom, for which to contend.
